By remaining true to the quality tenets of our founder Alfred Peet– emphasizing knowledge, taste, and using the senses to evaluate quality at every step – Peet’s defines the gold standard by which all other coffees are judged.

We taste our coffees again and again as we craft them, fine-tuning every decision for the best possible taste in the cup.
We cultivate long-term relationships with growers by continuing to travel to origin, paying the highest prices for “best of the best” quality.
We hand roast our coffees in small batches in order to draw out the depth of flavor essential to a good cup.
We ensure that our coffee is brewed fresh every 30 minutes or less and use only the freshest beans, within days of being roasted.
We stir our coffee grounds while brewing to extract the fullest flavor.
We craft our steamed milk to a creamy texture; we never re-steam milk.
We use fresh espresso shots poured within 10 seconds; we don’t use concentrates
